HORNSEY OLD PARISH TODAY
The Old Dairy on Crouch Hill is now a pub and restaurant and still has most of its original frontage showing the dairy process to townsfolk who might not know much about it. Indeed during WWII a child evacuated from London to a country farm and seeing for the first time a cow being milked famously remarked that 'in London we get our milk from bottles'. The frescoes were commissioned by the Friern Manor Dairy to advertise and perhaps idealise the process
