A view looking east from the Moselle in Lordship Recreation Ground. Here you may see Field Scabious, Meadow Buttercup, Common Vetch, Lady's Bedstraw, Bristly Oxtongue, Smooth Hawksbeard, Nipplewort, Rosebay Willowherb, Fool's Parsley and of course Cow Parsley. During WWII an HE German bomb entered an underground air-raid shelter here via a ventilation shaft. Allegedly there were 300 people inside and deaths were in the hundreds, but the official (and possibly massaged) records state that only 41 died - though many were injured.
