Bruce Castle, a Grade I listed C16th manor house whose grounds are now a public park in Lordship Lane in Tottenham, is on the eastern edge of the Old Hornsey map and just creeps in under the wire. It now houses the Borough of Haringey's local history material. According to Wikipedia when Robert 1 of Scotland acceded to the Scottish throne in 1306 he forfeited his lands in England including the Bruce connection. If you like your history and for what it may be worth it is said that the first owner in 1514 was Sir William Compton, Groom of the Stool (I jest not) to Henry VIII.
